Vikings season is over as Kirk Cousins fumbles with the sticks vs. Giants

The Minnesota Vikings season is over as the New York Giants arrive at U.S. Bank Stadium to upset the purple and golden by a score of 31-24.

Vikings fans were encouraged by the first drive. Kirk Cousins, quarterback, was perfect with 8-8 yards and 64 yards on the opening drive. The Vikings went up 7-0 with his quarterback’s sneak, which was less than a yard.

After the first drive, the Vikings defense boarded their struggle bus. They gave up 267 yards, with quarterback Daniel Jones rushing for 71 yards. The Vikings answered the Giants 17-straight point lead with a touchdown drive, which was completed by K.J. Osborn touchdown.

The defense tightened up during the second quarter, with a couple of great pass breakups by Duke Shelley. They weren’t able to do enough, especially on third down. The Giants ended the game at 7-13 with fourth down and 2-2 with fourth down. It was difficult to convert at such a high rate.

Overall, the Vikings didn’t play nearly well enough to win this game, especially on defense. They are now 11-1 in one-score wins and have allowed 400 yards of offense.

The Vikings are in the offseason and many questions will need to answered.
