Beale, Wallabies’ star player, is arrested for alleged sexual abuse

Kurtley Beale (Wallabies) was reportedly taken into police custody on Friday in connection to an alleged sexual assault. Rugby Australia stated that it was “aware” of the situation.

After a stint in France’s Top 14 side Racing 92, the veteran fullback returned to Australia last year and was taken to a Sydney police station.

According to The Sydney Daily Telegraph, he is expected to face charges for alleged sexual assault in Bondi’s licensed premises on December 17.

Rugby Australia released a brief statement saying that Rugby Australia, NSW Waratahs (Rugby Australia) and Rugby Union Players Associations (RUPA), are aware of the circumstances surrounding Kurtley Beele.

“This is a police matter and we have no charges. We will not make any further comments at this time.”

Beale, aged 34, has returned to Sydney and the Waratahs in order to be available to play for Australia at the fourth World Cup.

If he does, he joins Adam Ashley-Cooper (George Gregan) as the only third Australian to appear at four tournaments.

Beale has participated in 95 Tests and a Wallabies training camp this month on the Gold Coast.

Former England boss Eddie Jones replaced Coach Dave Rennie.
