Wisear builds neural earbuds. They skip tracks when your jaw is clenched.

Wisear’s wireless earbuds are capable of controlling music and querying your phone using voice commands. The company is developing “the first neural sensing wireless headphones.” a true wireless set You can control the tunes by using actions such as clenching or clenching of your jaw. After displaying the tech that drives its initial model, at CES last yearTo demonstrate the controls that are based on facial movement, the company has a new set of earbuds.

Wisear has electrodes that monitor brain, eye, and facial activity. The company uses AI to transform those into controls. The company is showing off two items here at CES — play/pause and skipping tracks — both of which are done by clenching your jaw (once or twice respectively). Wisear claims that the first controls based on eye activity will be available by the end the year. It demonstrated them with two wired prototype headphones here in Vegas. The company also plans to launch its first controls that are based on brain activity in the next year. The company says once that full suite of actions is ready, it will debut its first consumer product — also currently slated for 2024.

The goal is to eventually offer this technology to other earbud company and let them use the hands-free methods to do AR. The prototype’s bulky housing is not a problem, but the final set will look much like true wireless earbuds. Wisear states that its goal is bring the best features of earbuds to its models and that their battery life should be similar to the industry standard. This means that even with all the tech included, you should still be able get to the 5 hour mark on a single charge.
