Jay Briscoe, a Wrestling Star, has died at 38.

Jay Briscoe, Ring of Honor pro-wrestler, has passed away. He was 38.

Tony Khan, founder of All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor, announced the news via Twitter Tuesday.

Jamin Pugh has unfortunately passed away. Jay Briscoe was his name, and he was an icon in ROH for more than 20 years. Khan wrote.

Jay and Mark Briscoe were saluted by him. He also said that Mark Briscoe was a pro-wrestler brother. We will do everything we can to support Jay’s family.”

He closed with a simple, “Rest in Peace Jamin.”

Dave Meltzer, a Wrestling journalist, reported Jay’s arrest. involved in a fatal car accident.

Tony Khan tweeted Jay Briscoe’s tragic death in an automobile accident. Two people died in an automobile accident in Laurel Maryland at 5:30 p.m. “Just horribly tragic news,” Meltzer tweeted before correcting the accident location.

“Correction regarding the accident at Jay Briscoe, it was Laurel, Delaware“Not Maryland,” Meltzer later stated.

PEOPLE was told Tuesday by a Delaware State Police spokesperson that there had been a fatal car crash outside of Laurel. He said however that the agency would release the names of those involved on Wednesday.

Jay joined the ROH wrestling in 2002 Along with his brother Mark, according USA Today. According to the news outlet the Briscoe brothers were the first successful tag-team duo in ROH history.

In 2022, the ROH Hall Of Fame inducted the duo into its inaugural class. USA Today reported.

After Jay’s death, many in the world of wrestling paid tribute to Jay.

Paul “Triple H,” Levesque, a 14-time world champion, remembered Jay as a “incredible performer He created a deep connection to wrestling fans across the world” and sent condolences for his family, according his Twitter post.

ROH Hall of Famer Jay and Cary Silkin were pictured smiling together in a tweet by Cary Silkin. He wrote that Jay had lost one of his children and that the world had lost a great man. RIP!”

Jay was called by Kyle O’Reilly, an AEW wrestler.the real deal” on Twitter.

“I was always amazed how someone could be so intimidating one moment then so warm & affable the next,” he continued. “He gave so much to the business & to his family and I’m forever grateful for having known him. His family and Mark deserve strength and love. Love u bro.”

WWE star Mustafa Ali tweeted “Rest in power jay briscoe

Sami Zayn from WWE also shared a message. He wrote:I don’t have the words right now I wish to express my sadness in a proper manner. I love Jay & Mark Briscoe. They have always been my best friends. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m very lucky to have shared the ring & shared so many laughs with Jay Briscoe and I’m so sad to know neither will happen again. My friend, RIP.”
