Officially, ‘Yellowstone” Fans Are Fed Up After the “Disappointing Mid-Season Finale

Yellowstone Fans are used to watching dramatic season finales that leave many of the main characters in jeopardy. It is understandable that season 5’s mid-season finale left viewers feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Except for the big development in Jamie vs. Beth’s battle, it was a slow burn with a visit from the 6666Kayce (.Luke Grimes) taking over the ranch.

Texas is the other place to be.

It takes the episode a while to get to the 6666 Ranch, where Jimmy Hurdstram (Jefferson White), cozies up to his girlfriend Emily (Kathryn Kelly), while he seems to blend right in with his new crew. This interlude raises the question: When are we going to see the long-promised? 6666 spinoff?

Kayce takes the reins

John Dutton (Kevin CostnerMonica (Kelsey AsbilleKayce is going to take over the ranch after Rip leaves (John knows she is the one who “wears the pants” in their marriage). John explains that he’d like their son Tate to take over the ranch some day, and “The ranch can’t be Tate’s someday if the ranch isn’t here.” Monica also accepts John’s offer of living on the ranch in East Camp as a home that gives their family a fresh start.

Jamie Places His Cards on The Table

John supports Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), who is trying to stop the proposed pipeline. Jamie (Wes Bentley), addresses the legislature at the statehouse. He claims Governor Dutton broke state law by cancelling funding for the airport. This robbed the state and threatened to endanger the largest source of income, tourism. He applied to the Senate Tribunal for Impeachment and was granted.

Beth reveals the Family Secret

Jamie confronts Jamie about Jamie calling for their father’s impeachment. Beth then confronts John about the train station. John tells Beth the facts: “It’s an empty trash can for all those who have attacked us. It lays in a jurisdictional death zone in a county that has exactly zero residents, so there is no jury of your peers or court to change the venue. What is the matter with you?

Beth, who has acted as the Dutton family mastermind, somehow finds all of this shocking, yet is quick to point to a solution: “I think that’s the place for Jamie. What do you think, Daddy? Jamie is well-versed in the station and would do anything to stop John. Jamie confers with Sarah to discuss a similar ending for Beth. All this leads to the conclusion of the battle between Jamie and Beth that has been simmering since last season. First, let’s wait until the show comes back.

Seasons that have started around Father’s Day in the past have been repeated. So we’ll be hoping for a June return of the most-watched TV show. This is a long time to wait for news on Jamie’s departure to the train station and Beth’s final journey.
