A rugby player from Australia was charged with sexual assault.
Kurtley Beale is an Australian rugby union player. He was accused of sexually assaulting a Sydney woman last month.
Police said they are looking into reports that a 28-year old woman was attacked at Bondi, a beachside suburb on 17 December.
Mr. Beale is 34 years old and has played over 90 games for Australia’s national soccer team, the Wallabies. This was more than 10 years ago.
He was recently included in the Wallabies World Cup training squad.
Although he has spent the majority of his professional career in Australia, Mr Beale signed a two-year contract with Racing 92 in 2020.
After his contract was over, he returned home and joined the New South Wales Waratahs in the hopes of representing Australia in the September World Cup.
