Carol Vorderman on ‘no-strings-attached’ dating in her 60s
Carol Vorderman opened up about how she embraced a “freer way” of dating in her 60s, as she claims she is happy as a single woman.
The TV star, 62, revealed that for the past decade she has been in a “new chapter” of enjoying “no-strings-attached” relationships.
She said The Sun On Sunday’s Fabulous Magazine: “It is possible that my boyfriend will only last a few months. They are my’special friends’.
I won’t go into all details, but it’s been 11 years since one of my friendships’ began. I also have one special friend in America.
Mother-of-two, meanwhile, said: “I live a full, happy, exciting, and adventurous life. It makes me laugh every single day. It’s absurd and amazing.
“I think that many people are living that way but are too scared to speak up. Many divorcees are entering their 50s, and most of them wouldn’t mind getting married again.
“They would say, “Maybe I’d love someone, maybe a few.” “I didn’t know that I wanted to do it, but I’m eager to find out more.
Vorderman was married to Patrick King, a management consultant. She has a daughter Katie, 30 and a son Cameron, 25 years.
Vorderman has been single since their divorce in 2000.
The former Countdown presenter – who insists that her marriage wasn’t a “failure” – criticised the idea that women should always be looking for a husband.
She stated that she sold every little girl the message, “Cinderella requires a prince to save him.” Half of all marriages end in divorce.
“I am frustrated when women are told to look for a man. It’s b*****ks, because the goal is not to be in love, the goal is to be happy.”
Carol Vorderman shares her feelings about feeling suicidal during menopause.
