Commanders land 2 players on PFF’s 2022 NFL All-Pro team

Pro Football Focus announced their All-Pro Team in 2022 as 14 teams advance in the NFL Playoffs. Also included are two Washington Commanders.

Kamren Curl from safety was elected to the second safety team. Curl, still only age 23, completed his third season, increasingly becoming one of the more respected safety’s in the NFL.

Curl missed the first two and third games of the season. He played in 12 games. The Commanders beat the Jaguars in their opener, but were defeated by the 49ers, Browns and Lions. In the season finale, Curl lost to the Cowboys.

Curl was involved in 83 tackles this year, with 58 solo and 25 assisted. Curl also had six tackles for loss, one of which was a quarterback sack.

The seventh-round selection out of Arkansas (2020 NFL Draft) has exhibited tremendous value in Jack Del Rio’s defense due to the fact that he can be interchangeable, lining up close to the line of scrimmage or be placed deep in the defensive coverage.

Also, congratulations are due to safety Jeremy Reaves for being awarded PFF honor as a Special Teams member. Reaves was 26 when he joined the NFL. He was not selected and was released several times.

Per PFF, “Reaves played 373 snaps of special teams this season, featuring in five different phases. He had the best special teams grade in the league and made 17 total tackles.”

Reaves started three of 17 safety games. Reaves was able to defend one pass, making 33 tackles, 20 solo, and 13 assists.

Do remember that PFF’s All-Pro team is not synonymous with the Associated Press All-Pro Team. The former is still the most prominent. official All-Pro team, being the result of fifty voters’ ballots. In January, the All-Pro team will officially be announced.
