Erik Perez vs. Enrique Barzola booked for Bellator 292

Erik Perez It is back.

The Mexican star is set to take on Peru’s Enrique Barzola As part of the line up for Bellator 292 San Jose, this fight will be held on March 10. The fight will take place at bantamweight.

Two people familiar with the booking informed MMA Junkie about the matchup recently, but they asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet not made an official announcement.

Perez (20-8 MMA, 1-2 BMMA) hasn’t competed in well over a year. Last time he was seen in action was when he defeated Blaine Shutt with a unanimous decision in May 2021 at Bellator 258, Mexico. Perez was supposed to return in April 2022 against Cee Jay Hamilton, but was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed reasons.”Goyito,” a pioneer for MMA in Mexico, is 6-2 since leaving the UFC in 2014.

Barzola (18-7-2 MMA; 2-2 BMMA), is looking to bounce back from his two consecutive losses, which are the first time he has suffered back-to-back defeats in his professional career. “El Fuerte” lost to Juan Archuleta and Magomed Magomedov in his most recent outings. Barzola started Bellator with a 2-0 record, defeating Darrion Caldwell (former champion) and Nikita Mikhailov (former champion).
