Forsee Power Will Equip The First Public Order for a French Retrofitted Coach

PARIS, January 9, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory News:

Forsee Power (FR0014005SB3 – FORSE), the expert in smart battery systems for sustainable electromobility, announces that it will supply the battery system for the first public school bus order converted into an electric vehicle by Greenmot for Métropole of Rouen Normandie in France. 49 vehicles must be converted by the metropolis.

An unprecedented call for tenders launched by Métropole Rouen Normandie and won by the Greenmot, Forsee Power, SPL and Comeca consortium

France has 69,000 coaches. Half of this fleet has more than five years of age and can be retrofitted by a March 2020 decree that allows vehicles to be converted without the consent of their original manufacturers. This is an enormous opportunity to reduce transport-related carbon.2 reducing emissions and maximising the vehicle’s economic value. School buses can travel 200,000 km after 10 years of service, whereas 1 million are intended for.

Métropole Rouen Normandie is the first community to launch a call for tenders to transform its diesel coaches into electric coaches. This was possible by choosing the Greenmot retrofit kits, Forsee Power battery packs, and the Comeca charging infrastructure. Greenmot, the French specialist for the conversion of thermal industrial vehicle into electric vehicles, is the retrofit kit. It allows you to electrify vehicles at a cost comparable to a second-hand car.

The 49 Iveco Crossway converted vehicles will be used on the ‘Astuce” school route network. The first test vehicle will be delivered at the end 2023. After that, the buses will be integrated into a network of school buses until 2025.

Vehicle’s retrofit, an additional business development lever for Forsee Power

The main component of the retrofit kit is the battery system. Forsee Power has equipped over 1,600 electric buses worldwide, mostly in Europe. It has a wide range of batteries that can be used for overnight charging, fast charging, or hydrogen/fuel cell-powered solutions. Forsee Power provides all the technical solutions for converting diesel or gas vehicles to 100% battery or hydrogen electric.

As part of the school buses for the Rouen Normandie Metropolis, Forsee Power will supply Greenmot with battery systems from its ZEN SLIM range made up of 11, 16 and 21 kWh modules, for perfect integration into vehicle chassis, thus optimizing passengers’ space.

This is the first step towards zero emission collective and public transport. This type of passenger transport is ideal for ZEN SLIM’s ultra-flat battery systems. Retrofitting has been a key solution to decarbonizing transport over the last 12 months. It allows operators to optimize their investments and accelerate the energy transition. Our current projects include retrofitting trucks and other industrial vehicles all around the globe.,” explains Sébastien Rembauville-Nicolle, Vice-President Business Development at Forsee Power.
