Joel Embiid will be playing for Sixers in a matchup at home with Pelicans
Joel Embiid will return from a four-game road trip as a questionable player with lower back soreness.
The big fella had originally suffered the injury in a New Year’s Eve win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, but it looks like he will be fine for this matchup. As they battle Zion Williamson, The Sixers will need Zion Williamson to help them defeat the Pelicans.
“He started feeling it during the Oklahoma game,” coach Doc Rivers revealed. “He told me that.”

The Sixers will be able fight Williamson a little better with Embiid. Without him in the game, the Pelicans star barreled through Georges Niang and Montrezl Harrell in New Orleans’ win on Friday during Philadelphia’s road trip.
Tipoff at the Wells Fargo Center will take place at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
