After suffering a severe blow to his neck, head and neck, Russell Gage is forced to leave Cowboys–Bucs’ game.

After suffering a terrible injury in the second half, Russell Gage, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver, was forced to leave Monday’s playoff match against the Dallas Cowboys via a backboard. After suffering a neck and concussion, he was taken to the local hospital.

Wilson then hit Gage from behind, snapping Gage in half. Wilson wasn’t aiming at Gage’s forehead. Gage was already in the tackle zone when Wilson fell.

Gage seemed to be trying to get up after the hit, but couldn’t. He lay on his back. Gage was being cared for by medical trainers. Players from both sides surrounded him. Gage was eventually placed on a backboard by trainers. He was then lifted onto a cart and taken off the field.

Todd Bowles, the Bucs’ head coach, said that Gage was transported to a local hospital after the game and was being assessed for a concussion or neck injury. Gage had some movement in his fingers while on the field.

Gage was originally listed as questionable before Monday’s game, after sustaining a back injury on a touchdown catch in Week 18. Gage had left the field. Play was resumed by Gage. a 31-14 Cowboys win.
